Investigating high gas prices

When the news of US president investigation of high gasoline prices hits hip-hop news sites you know that witch hunt is on big time and speculators are to blame as usual: "We are going to make sure that no one is taking advantage of the American people for their own short-term gain," Barrack Obama said at a town-hall style gathering at a renewable energy plant in the city of Reno, Nev."

Interestingly enough today's RBC reports the Russia's Federal Anti-monopoly Committee has started the audition of oil companies to discover possible conspiracies to jack-up the gasoline and diesel fuel prices. They will be trying to find out the causes of fuel deficits and rising prices in more than 20 regions of Russian Federation.

I can't really believe that people are buying into this... Apparently though the 'elected leaders' are drinking the same cool-aid all over.

As I have mentioned just yesterday the prices are actually at the record low if you aren't measure them with green paper issued by US Fed but rather with something tangible. Here's a very interesting podcast discussing why it is so important to have stable measurement units.
